Dennis Decker is a longtime Harlem resident and brand creator and partner of Harlem Shake. His professional career has encompassed landscape design, interior design, branding, editorial cartooning and industrial design, as well as being a design executive for Ralph Lauren tabletop, Esteé Lauder and LOreal.

 

In pursue of his ongoing creative needs, he has begun his own line of artwork, currently centering on poster portraits of friends and neighbors. His style is strongly graphic, using the old school halftone method used in black and white press, along with a minimum of colors. The posters are generally 30” x40” giclee prints on heavy weight paper. They start from a photograph and are reworked digitally to present hero-like images of the subjects.
